I have been booking Stand Up comedians in South Africa, for over eight years. Mel Miller has worked with me during ALL of those eight years. Together we have facilitated, Mc`d, Produced, Promoted and performed at thousands of events across South Africa.
Mel has never been late for an event I have booked him for, he has never missed an event I have booked for him and most importantly,
I have never received a complaint about an event I have booked for him.
So as an insider in the Stand Up Comedy Industry.(Ha! we say industry like we cut steel at night!) As an insider if you ask me who I recommend for your year end event in 2009 my answer is most certainly Mel Miller.
He has performed at Golf Days on our behalf, Gala Dinners, Black Tie Events, Award ceremonies, and he has always been a favorite amongst year end parties.
Mel understands the spirit of "ubuntu" and the result has been many a newcomer to our comedy circuits have learned something from Mel. To the extent that, when I recently produced an event at which John Vlismas was the event MC. John called Mel "my comedy dad!"
Recently, we started a project called Comics - Who- Care, in this project we find community people who need our assistance and raise funds for them via our talent medium. This event was a huge success, and we are indebted to Mel for his contribution, and the insight that he shared with us.
